Registered foreigners
residing in Korea must obtain a “re-entry permit” before leaving the country to

An official from the
Immigration Policy Headquarters said, “You can easily obtain a re-entry permit
if you apply online. To prevent the spread of COVID-19,
please refrain from visiting the immigration and foreign offices in person."
When applying for a
re-entry permit at an airport or port, visiting the immigration office is
possible only for urgent reasons.
If you do not apply
online in advance and apply at the airport or port for urgent reasons, you
should be very careful as boarding may be delayed or boarding may be impossible
due to the long waiting time for civil complaints.
