The Seoul Metropolitan City has introduced
‘96 Maple Roads in Seoul’ that you can enjoy near your home without having to
go too far.
This year, out of the 93 routes selected
in 2019, 6 routes were added out of 90 routes, excluding 3 locations that were
difficult to pass due to redevelopment projects.
In detail, ▲Cheongpa-ro, Yongsan-gu, ▲Uicheonbyeon-gil,
Dobong-gu, ▲Seongjung-gil, Mapo-gu, etc. made up
of beautiful ginkgo trees and sycamore trees (platanus) were added. It was
newly selected this time because of its unique scenery.
The ▲ Children's Grand Park Circular Trail was also
newly selected this time because of its unique scenery of the maple tunnel of
Bokjagi Street trees planted on both sides.
‘Seoul’s 96 Maple Roads’ is a total of
154 km in length, and the number of trees that are familiar to us, such as
ginkgo, zelkova, and Yoshino cherry trees, is beautiful, and the number of them
is about 56,000.
Ginkgo trees (34.8%), which account for
the largest number of street trees in Seoul, provide discomfort for about two
weeks due to the smell of ginkgo berries. However, when leaves turn yellow in
autumn, they provide beautiful scenery and monopolize the love of citizens.
Zelkova, Yoshino cherry, and metasequoia
faithfully perform their roles as street trees such as air purification and
climate relief, providing citizens with autumn leaves in autumn, beautiful
flowers in spring, and cool greenery in summer.
Seoul divides the four themed roads into ① a maple road that is easy to walk in the
city, ② a maple road that walks
along the water, ③
a maple road that meets the park, and ④
a maple road that meets the promenade, so that citizens can easily take on the
maple road around and feel the atmosphere and romance of autumn.
You can check the route of ‘Seoul Maple Roads 96 Lines’ by easily searching through the ▲Seoul website (http://www.seoul.go.kr/story/autumn) and ▲Smart Seoul Map.
