Support for tuition fees for foreign nationals in Gangwon-do

The Gangwon-do Office of Education has amended the ‘Gangwon-do Office of Education Multicultural Education Promotion Ordinance’ and decided to support children with foreign nationality as well.

Tuition support for foreign children is designed to guarantee human dignity and the right to pursue happiness and the right not to be discriminated against.

Gangwon-do Office of Education is promoting various policies to support public education for students from multicultural families, and this support for early childhood tuition is expected to increase opportunities for social integration by guaranteeing educational opportunities for foreign children and immigrant children.

This year's application period is from March 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023, and a separate budget is established and supported each year.

The target audience is foreign children aged 3 to 5 who have completed alien registration in Korea and attend public or private kindergartens in Gangwon-do.

Based on the educational course fee and after-school course fee, 150,000 won per child for public kindergartens and 350,000 won for private kindergartens are provided.
