Although the total number of school violence cases in
Ulsan decreased, the number of students who were victims of school violence
among multicultural students was on the rise.
Rep. Kim Jong-seop inquired about the reasons and
countermeasures in relation to the fact that school violence related to
multicultural students is increasing year by year at the administrative audit
of the Gangbuk Office of Education on the 12th and emphasized the need to
prepare customized guidance plans for multicultural students.
According to him, the number of perpetrators of school
violence among multicultural students increased from 9 in 2019 to 17 this year,
and the number of victims increased two to three times, from 6 in 2019 to 18
this year.
Rep. Kim said, “The problem of school violence continues
to occur because they are not good at Korean and their hair color and
appearance are slightly different.”
In addition, Assemblyman Kim said, "The number of
multicultural students continues to increase, but there are policies that do
not change much or are declining compared to the previous year." He
ordered special attention to policy promotion and budgeting.
Rep. Kim said, “Not only are the cases of school violence against multicultural students, but also the dropout rate of multicultural students (excluding overseas departures) is increasing. He urged, “the operation of awareness-raising programs to promote warm and sincere care for multicultural families.”
