The 'foreign seasonal worker' program is a system in which the Ministry of Justice issues a short-term employment visa of 3 to 5 months. The introduction process is complicated and it takes about 3 to 5 months from application for participation by farms to assignment, making it difficult to introduce foreign seasonal workers.
As the rural labor shortage worsens, attention is focused on 'foreign workers recommended for marriage immigrants'.
Foreign seasonal workers introduced by the recommendation of marriage immigrants can legally work in Korea for 3 or 5 months by shortening the introduction process from 3 to 5 months to less than 1 month.
Eumseong-gun said that based on the experience of introducing it last year, it was the result of expanding the target of introducing foreign seasonal workers for the supply and demand of rural manpower from this year.
In addition, Eumseong-gun has been promoting 'seasonal workers entering overseas', 'foreign seasonal workers recommended for marriage immigrants', and permitted 'foreign seasonal workers staying in Korea' for foreigners who are staying in Korea but cannot find a job to participate in seasonal workers, through signing the MOU between local governments from early February.
As a result, in the case of 'foreign seasonal workers recommended by marriage immigrants', 53 people from 17 farms were issued visa issuance certificates and are preparing to enter Korea, and for 'foreign seasonal workers staying in Korea', 17 people from 9 farms were assigned to farms.
