The city of Incheon has decided to provide
childcare disaster subsidies to about 99,000 infants and toddlers in its
jurisdiction.
Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Park
Nam-chun) announced that it will provide childcare disaster support of 100,000
won per person to children living in daycare centers and infants raising at
home by mid-November.
Childcare Disaster Subsidy is a disaster
subsidy provided to infants and toddlers in the event of a childcare disaster
socially and economically in accordance with the 「Incheon
Metropolitan City Childcare Disaster Subsidy Support Ordinance」.
Accordingly, the city pays childcare disaster subsidies to promote the welfare
of children who have not received adequate childcare services due to an order
to close all daycare centers due to the spread of COVID-19.
A total of 99,000 children are eligible
for support, including children aged 0-5 years old who are funded by daycare
centers, infants who receive family childcare allowances, and children who are
funded by daycare centers due to deferment of school attendance obligations.
Kindergarten-funded children receiving
support from the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education's education recovery
subsidy and children staying abroad for a long period of time are excluded from
the support.
The childcare disaster subsidy will be
transferred directly to the child allowance payment account without a separate
application, and the payment will be completed by the end of November.
Mayor Park Nam-chun said, "It is a
difficult time in our daily life due to the prolonged COVID-19, but we will do
our best to ensure that there is no blank space in the welfare of all classes
under any circumstances." I hope it can be of some comfort to you,” he
said.
