From January to March of next year, the
Incheon Foreigners Comprehensive Support Center will be expanded and relocated
from a part of the 3rd floor of the existing building to the entire 8th floor.
A total of 119 million won is invested in this project.
This expansion was selected in the ‘2021
Foreign Residents Residential Infrastructure Construction Project Competition’
by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security in September.
Currently, the Foreigner Support Center
(3rd floor, 40, Art-ro 192beon-gil, Namdong-gu) is operating only telephone
counseling and non-face-to-face online Korean language classes in accordance
with the COVID-19 social distancing policy. It is expected to be transformed
into a space that will help settle in.
Meanwhile, Incheon Metropolitan City will
promote the outsourcing of services to the private sector from 2022 to
guarantee the expertise of the Incheon Comprehensive Support Center for
Foreigners and to enhance the convenience of users.
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that
it will openly recruit the operation trustees of the Incheon Comprehensive
Support Center for Foreigners (hereinafter referred to as the Foreigner Support
Center) by December 24th.
After the dissolution of the Incheon
International Foundation, the city of Incheon, which has been operating the
foreigner support center directly since 2016, plans to actively promote
‘Creating Incheon a foreigner-friendly city of harmony and coexistence’ through
this contest.
Through consigned operation of specialized
agencies, the plan is to △secure
professional counselors for foreign residents, △hold
educational program events for foreign residents, and △establish
networks with local organizations for foreign residents.
The consignment period is three years from
January 2022 to December 2024, and only non-profit corporations and private
organizations with major offices in Incheon can apply for the public offering.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the Family Multicultural Division of Incheon City Hall for two days from December 23rd, 10am to 24th, 18:00.
