The World Association of Local Governments
recognized by the United Nations is an international organization to which many
regional cities around the world have joined.
Since the efforts of local governments
play a bigger role than the central government in terms of residents' happiness
and quality of life, it was established with the purpose of collecting
residents' opinions and delivering them to international organizations.
Next year, the World Federation of Local Governments General Assembly will be held in Daejeon.
