The Korean government will help you avoid difficulties as much as possible by subsidizing medical expenses for pregnancy and childbirth through health insurance. First, get a National Happiness Card for treatment of pregnant women and infants!

*Pregnancy/birth (including miscarriage/stillbirth) health insurance subscribers or dependents
▲ Details of support
*Voucher (National Happiness Card) that can be used to purchase medical expenses and medicines and treatment materials for pregnant women and infants under the age of 2 is provided
*The support amount is 1 million won per pregnancy (2 million won for twins, 3 million won for triplets). Additional support of 200,000 won for vulnerable childbirth
*The usage period is 2 years from the card receipt date (point creation date for card issuers) to the expected delivery date (or delivery date)

*Online application: NHIS/Government 24 website, NHIS/Card company (bank) mobile app, phone (after computerized registration of pregnancy/birth information at the obstetrics and gynecology department)

*Request for reduction of working hours due to pregnancy: up to 2 hours per day without wage reduction, within 3 months (12 weeks) of pregnancy or after 8 months (32 weeks)
