I am a marriage immigrant with an F-6 visa. I extended my visa, but I was only given 3 months of stay.

I asked the immigration officials, and they said that I need to receive international marriage education first to extend more.

Before that, every time I extended my visa, I was given a year, but now I only got 3 months. I asked a friend and he or she said the law had changed. Could it be true?
