Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, is conducting a ‘survey for multicultural family of their actual situation and needs’. According to Jang Seong-gun, the ‘Survey on the actual condition and needs of Multicultural Families’ was prepared to secure basic data for the effective and systematic provision of welfare services. This is the preparatory stage for the multicultural family education program diversification project, which is the promise of the 8th popular election in Jangseong-gun.
Jangseong-gun, which started the investigation in August last year, surveyed the 458 multicultural families living in Jangseong at the township level.
Since then, the family center investigation team has personally visited 415 households, excluding residents who do not reside for reasons such as moving, to conduct a full investigation.
So far, 270 households have completed the survey and the progress rate is 65%. According to the military, all investigations are expected to be completed within this month.
General Kim Han-jong said, “Based on the results of this investigation, we plan to establish a business plan for next year. We will continue to support the stable settlement and welfare of multicultural families to realize a happy general for all citizens,” he said.
In addition, Jangseong-gun will promptly resume the 'Send Multicultural Families to Parents' project, which has been suspended for a while due to COVID-19. Currently, 20 households are promoting a visit to their hometown. Multicultural families in Jangseong-gun account for 3.7% of the total population.
