My life in Korea...Story of 3 Korean classes

My daughter turned 5 this year and went to kindergarten.

So, I took an online Korean class at the Hwaseong City Family Center. There are three classes: Topic class on Monday, Intermediate Korean on Wednesday and Friday, and Korean pronunciation class on Saturday. It's a free class run by the Korean government, and the teacher also takes part in the class, and the students are housewives like me, so I didn't expect much at first. However, I learned a lot while studying. I'm going to tell you about three Korean teachers.

Intermediate Korean

Intermediate Korean on Wednesdays and Fridays started in March. This is the longest class I've ever taken. The teacher for this class is Kang So-yeon There were 12 students at the beginning, but now there are 8 students: 3 Vietnamese students, 3 Chinese students, 1 Thai student, and 1 Uzbek student.

Even though the country is different and the culture is different, the teacher creates a fun atmosphere for students to participate well in class and concentrates on class. And from the heart, you can feel that students are respected and taken care of. There are many Vietnamese and Chinese students, so they talk actively in class, but the teacher always makes Thai and Uzbek students interested and considerate so that they can talk more. So now all the students speak confidently and are like friends. The teacher's mother passed away before Chuseok, so both the teacher and we were very sad. After class, the teacher said that she was very sad, but her mood improved a lot because of the cute students. After hearing the teacher's words, we were both happy and sad.

Marriage immigrants do not feel comfortable talking about their aging parents in their home countries. When the class first started, a Vietnamese friend's father was ill, and he couldn't attend the class because he had to work in a factory because he didn't have enough money. I also thought of that. I hope both parents are healthy.

Monday Topic classes started in May This class was created to prepare for the October TOPIK test. The teacher for this class is Ms. Eom Shin-yeon. The atmosphere of this class is completely different from the relaxed atmosphere of the intermediate Korean class as it prepares for the October exam. Students solve

problems and teachers provide explanations. As the class progressed, the writing assignments became more and more common. There are 15 students in the topic class. When the students do their homework, the teacher checks and corrects it, the students rewrite it and the teacher corrects it again... The teacher is very busy because he does this many times. The class atmosphere is a little strict, but you always check meticulously, so now my skills have improved a lot and I have a lot of confidence in the exam.

Korean pronunciation class

Saturday pronunciation classes started in August It's the class that started late, but it's the most comfortable class out of the three classes. The teachers for this class are Ms. Eom Shin-yeon and Ms. Shin Nam-mi. Two teachers teach every other week.

Teacher Eom Shin-yeon, who is with us in the topic class, is still strict, but she laughs more during pronunciation class.

Teacher Shin Nam-mi is gentle. His voice is soft and he smiles. Practicing pronunciation is like singing a song. For the first time, I felt that Korean pronunciation was fun and beautiful. When I pronounce it out loud happily, my heart becomes happy as if I went back to elementary school again.

People who help me
